Meadowlark: (photo left) This is one of our best values for getting started on the hammered dulcimer. This 13/12, 2 1/2 plus octave instrument has a Baltic Birch ply top and back, solid maple side rails and solid walnut top and bottom rails. It has lovely walnut tone hole rosette inserts (hard to see in photo) and comes with a case, instruction book, hammers and a tuning wrench for $320.
Traveler with Baltic Birch Ply Top: Same as the Meadowlark, but a 14/13 with 3 full octaves. Plays like a 15/14. Full string spacing. Fits in an airline overhead compartment. Great sound. $395.00 - includes case, book, hammers and tuning wrench.

Wren: (photo left) This hammered dulcimer is the upgraded version of the Meadowlark. Still a 13/12, 2 1/2 plus octave instrument but with a solid Spanish Cedar top. It has a slightly brighter, richer tone and the added beauty of hardwood. Price also includes a case, instruction book, hammers and a tuning wrench for $430.
Traveler with Solid Spanish Cedar Top: Same as the Wren, but a 14/13 with 3 full octaves. A super lightweight 14/13 that plays like a 15/14. Full string spacing. Fits in airline overhead compartment. Solid spanish cedar top for best sound. $495.00 - includes case, book, hammers and tuning wrench.
Songbird Hammered Dulcimers by Chris Foss
Whippoorwill: (photo left) This is a 17/17, 3 plus octave, fully chromatic hammered dulcimer. It is an all solid wood instrument with a cherry top and back. It has amazing projection without being overpowering. It comes with a case, instruction book, hammers and a tuning wrench for $750.
Phoebe: (not pictured) This is the best value for a full-sized 16/15, 3 octave dulcimer. The top and bottom are laminated Baltic Birch which produces an instrument which stays in tune very well. The Phoebe has a wonderful bright sound that works equally well whether playing a fast fiddle tune or a slower hymn in church. It come with a case, instruction book, hammers and a tuning wrench for $455.
Lap Harps
Music Maker: This is a wonderful little "zither" that practically "plays itself". Also known as a plucked psaltery, this instrument is easily played and enjoyed by young and old. It is made in Belarus.
Music cards which slide under the strings, allow the player to "connect the dots" and play a song immediately. Strings cover 2 octaves of a G major scale. Includes 12 songs, a little tuning wrench, pic, and extra string. $39.
Other packets of 12 songs, are available for $4.50 each, various titles.

Chris Foss: Various woods with a beautiful resonant sound. Comes with a bow, case, book, tuning wrench and rosin. $239.
